Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This note presents a new image segmentation algorithm using fractal coding. The compressed data with fractal code is a set of parameters of affine mapping. This algorithm utilize the fractal compressed data to split an original image into some segments which have different feature. The reccurent algorithm of affine mapping can be regarded as a nonlinear dynamical system and the segmentation is achieved by calculation for basins of attractions in the system. A new algorithm takes account of the period of the attractors in trapping regions and statistical properties for the image.
