Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Any system of state equations whose solution contains both very fast and very slow components is said to be stiff. To solve stiff equations,Gear's algorithm is commonly used.In this paper,an algorithm to solve stiff linear equations which was proposed formerly is named the modified backward Euler(MBE)algorithm. The MBE algorithm is applied to the transient analysis of stiff linear and nonlinear circuits.Several example circuits are computed. The accuracy and CPU time both of MBE and Gear's algorithm are compared. The MBE algorithm treats nonlinear circuits in which nonlinear elements have piecewise linear characteristics.
