Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction is known as an oscillatory system of oxidizing and deoxidizing solution. We report on the pattern dynamics of chemical waves propagating in non-stirring batch reactor of the BZ-solution and hydrodynamic flows associated with the waves.Especially,a ″big wave″ is observed which propagates wi th accelerating speed in the oscillatory BZ-solution having long oscillation period.Localized phase gradient of the oscillation and induction of the hydrodynamic flow are possible causes for the acceleration.Detailed experimentation investigating the occurring conditions for the big wave and simulation studies based on the Oregonator-model(diffusion-reaction system)are carried out to clarify the mechanism.
