Abstract(in English) This paper introduces a new algorithm that is capable of extracting features using cellular neural networks. The algorithm extracts information that is hard to be recognized, for example, Arabic figures drawn with a hard-to-distinguish color on the background of postage stamps. We report on some simulation results using the feature extracting algorithm.
