Construction and Visualization of Three-dimensional Bifurcation Diagrams

Abstract(in English) This paper describes a method to obtain a bifurcation diagram as a solid model in a three-parameter space. Firstly we calculate suitable number of two-parameter bifurcation diagrams with small step of the third parameter. We should extract some feature points to remove unnecessary points on the bifurcation set. The polygon which shows a bifurcation surface is composed of surfaces made by points of adjacent parameter values with the triangle-patch technique. Secondly we show these polygons on the display of the computer system by using a standard graphic library called OpenGL [4]. As an illustrated example, we try to show bifurcation surfaces in a three-parameter space of Duffing's equation. It is possible to show details of the surface quickly, and recognize whole structure of the surface. Finally, we explain a consideration and a problem about this report.
