Shilnikov Homoclinic Bifurcation Observed in an Autonomous Third-Order Phase-Locked Loop : The Sinsoidal Phase Detector Case

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we investigate the existence of the Shilnikov's type homoclinic orbit in a certain type of Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) represented by a third-order autonomous differential equation. Characteristically, this PLL has a second-order loop filter consisting of two lag-lead filters connected in tandem, and a sinusoidal phase detector. We have calculated various homoclinic bifurcation sets from the model equation in loop filter gain versus detuning plane.
