Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The effect of the current flowing along the geometric axis on the equilibria and its stability of tight-aspect ratio tokamak is investigated. MHD equilibrium configurations of tight-aspect-ratio tokamak in the flux conserver are numerically determined and their stability is investigated by use of the Mercier criterion. The results of computation show that the equilibrium changes its state from spheromak through ultra-low q to tokamak with the increase of the current flowing along the geometric axis. In addition, it is found that Mercier limit diminishes until its value vanishes as the state changed from spheromak to ultra-low q, and raises its value remarkably as the state changes from ultra-low q to tokamak.
