Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The explosive increase in the amount of Internet traffic demands high-speed and large capacity IP backbone networks. This paper proposes a network design method where electrical and photonic MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) technologies are used; the network is referred to as a Photonic IP network. We first propose algorithms that minimize the network cost in the multi-layered network consisting of electrical LSPs (Label Switched Paths) and optical LSPs (optical paths that are controlled with MPLS mechanism). We developed different cost minimization scenarios adopting different OLSP provisioning conditions and quantitatively demonstrate the benefits of OLSPs.
