Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new integrated routing mechanism and a new path recovery mechanism to achieve GMPLS path recovery in a multi-layer optical network. The new integrated routing mechanism reduces required network resources. The new path recovery mechanism prevents inter-layer recovery contentions and enables flexible selection of recovery segments and granularities in both Subnetwork Protection and End-to-end Protection. We have developed a GMPLS testbed implementing the new mechanisms. In our experiments, both the Subnetwork and End-to-end Protection achieved shorter than 20 msec recovery time in 1 + 1 path recovery and shorter than 200 msec recovery time in 1:1/shared path recovery.
