Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We consider performance of optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) in the uplink of passive optical networks (PONs), comparing with E-PON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) and adaptively slot assigned time-division multiple-access (TDMA E-PON). Evaluation is done in terms of throughput, average number of retransmissions, and delay charactenstic. Results, show that OCDMA has higher throughput than E-PON, smaller numbers of traffic retrausmitions, and smaller delay. In addition, OCDMA increases throughput and reduces the totaldelay in traffic load.
