Abstract(in English) The ATM-PON (ATM based Passive Optical Network) technology is one of solutions to accommodate many users on one ATM interface. The media access control technology, referred. to as DBA(Dynamic Bandwidth Assignment), is one of issues to enhance capability of ATM-PON. In systems with DBA, we need more complicate resource management, and should provision new parameters. In this paper, we clarify concepts for resource provisioning in such networks. We discuss effective mechanisms of resource provisioning for DBA
