A Dynamic Capacity Control Scheme for Input and Output Buffered Switch with Threshold Control Method

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a dynamic capacity control scheme for input and output buffered switch.In the proposed method, the output queue length is comppared with the threshold value settled in the output buffer, and then path capacity is equivalently controlled by dynamically allocating appropriate read out speed for the input buffer.This enables the network to efficiently adapt to the bursty input traffic variation.The authors evaluated the performance such as delay, queue length, fairness and throughput using traffic simulation.The results showed that the proposed method improves the utilization of network resources.
