Abstract(in English) Two kinds of Dynamic Bandwith Assignment methods in the ATM-PON system have been discussed.One is the SR method that uses the status reports from the ONTs to the OLT, and another is the NSR method that uses no report.A method based on the latter one has been proposed.In this method, the OLT detects the congestion condition by monitoring the number of the valid cells from the ONTs frequently.We evaluated this NSR method with the traffic profile specified in FSAN OAN-WG by the simulation.In this paper, we describe the result of the simulation and indicate the effects of this method.
