Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Fiber-grating external cavity laser (FGL) has attracted much attention as a light source of DWDM system. We applied our FGLs to experiments of wave-multiplexing and DWDM transmission with 25-GHz frequency spacing. Due to the high controllability of wavelength and its small dependencies on device temperature and injection current, multiplexing of 4 channel with 25-GHz frequency spacing and with the same peak power was easily realized using FGLs. In the DWDM transmission with 25 GHz spacing at 2.5 Gbps direct modulation, transmission of adjacent channel caused no degradation in the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance, and a successful transmission was achieved up to 300 km using standard single mode fiber (SMF). |
