Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We demonstrate successful active mode-locking operation at 10GHz of a 10mm-long erbium:ytterbium fiber Fabry-Perot laser (FFPL) in a ring cavity configuration. It is a ring cavity simply composed of a FFPL and a LN intensity modulator. We compare its performance with a conventional mode-locked ring laser with and without an intracavity fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (FFPI). We could generate a nearly transform-limited 10GHz pulse train having the pulsewidth of 1.6ps by inserting a highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) in the ring cavity.
