Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fiber-grating laser (FGL) modules for dense WDM systems were fabricated, and the characterization of the modules was carried out. Current dependent emission wavelength 1.5pm/mA is an order smaller than that of conventional DFB lasers. The transmission over distances of 400km in single-mode-fiber was accomplished under 2.5Gbit/s direct-modulation. These results indicate FGL is a promising light source for Dense WDM systems.
