Abstract(in English) An optical waveguide device, which are now used in an applications such as splitters and couplers and so on, expected to be widely used in optical communication system. Moreover, the most important requirement for the device is to couple waveguides to the fibers. We have already proposed a passively aligned coupling method using two guide-pins to connect single-mode waveguide to a multifiber array. In this paper, we propose a novel optical device for coupling single-mode waveguides to a multifiber push-on (MPO) connector using direct endface core contact. The device structure and optical characteristics are presented.
