Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the non-regenerating systems using opticl amplifiers, accumulation of optical signal distortion caused by the fiber nonlinearity is one of the major problems because optical signals travel thousands of kilometers without reshaping. In this paper, we report design of the Large Effective area dispersion shifted Fibers (LEFs) with reduced optical nonlinearity. These fibers have excellent macrobending performance by employing the Segmented Core profile with Depressed Cladding LEF (SGC-DC-LEF) than that of the Dual Shape Core profile with Depressed Cladding LEF (DSC-DC-LEF).
