Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The dynamics of the optical fiber ring resonator is investigated numerically. The output optical power from the optical fiber ring resonaoter fluctuates temporally and exibits the chaotic behavior when the input optical power is large. The chaotic behavior of the output is affected by the coherence state of the incident light. When the source coherence is degraded, i.e., the line width of the incident light exceeds 30MHz, the output power from the optical fiber ring resonator is always convergent and stable in time. This characteristics is strongly dependent on the length and loss in the ring resonator such that the chaotic state appears as the length and/or loss in the resonator increases.
