Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) On optical transmission systems employing the optical super wide-band FM technique, we studied the each distortion characteristics of FM modulator and demodulator individually. In that system including several complicated distortion factors, it is important to measure the essential distortions for each components. The distortion characteristics of FM modulator and demodulator were revealed with the method using the dummy carriers. The FM laser shows non-linear distortion characteristics as popular devices. The FM demodulator is required to adjust correctly its dicision level for input FM signal, because linear distortion increases dependent on the level.
