Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The multi-dropped system with a bus structure is suitable for the video monitoring optical transmission systems at the point of reduction of fiber operating cost. However, it has been afraid that the noise induced by Rayleigh back scattering in the multi-dropped system with many laser diodes and with many couplers affected the transmission performance. So, we analyzed the noise in the multi-dropped system using 1.3μm DFB laser diodes in detail. As the calculated results, in the video monitoring system in which 40 cameras were allocated with the interval of 1 km, it was clarified that the reduction of the carrier to noise ratio by Rayleigh back scattering was less than 2dB at the received optical power of 0 dBm.
