Configuration of Optical Node in Optical Label Switching Network

Abstract(in English) Configuration of optical nodes is studied in a proposed optical network in which optical burst signal is tansported using wavelength and pilot tone label conversions at the optical nodes. Requirements for functions of the optical node are discussed and an optical processing technology is examined experimentally. The node needs to switch output ports and convert wavelength and pilot tone labels of optical burst signals. Wavelength and pilot tone conversions are demonstrated using the cross-gain modulation effect in a semiconductor optical gate for optical space switching. The optical label switching node has an advantage of high-speed label recognition and simple node configuration in comparison with a previously reported label switching node.
