A Study of TCP/IP over ATM with Flow Control

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new explicit-rate mode ABR algorithm called Load Based Explicit Rate Control (LBERC), that can ensure fair bandwidth allocation, quickly ramp-up TCP window size, and reduce congestion over the Internet on ATM. In particular, we also present results of TCP over ABR with LBERC to verify the compatibility of the interaction between TCP-window-based flow control and ABR-rate-based flow control. We also show characteristics using UBR for comparison. The results are verified by simulation.
