A study on FTTC system as a broadband xDSL backbone network

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we proposed G-FTTC, which provides 2.5 Gbps downlink capacity through a passive optical network, as an ultrabroadband backbone network for xDSL systems. G-FTTC combines multiple ATM-PDS systems by using bit multiplexing in the downlink and cell multiplexing in the uplink. Thus G-FTTC can achieve high compatibility with conventional ATM-PDS system and low cost ONU. Basic configuration and required techniques for G-FTTC are discussed.
