Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Diversity-coding system uses error correcting codes constructed across logically independent virtual paths in ATM networks. The technique enables a fast failure recovery since it does not need rerouting. The proposed technique in this paper includes a segment network formation principle for reducing spare path capacity. The authors also presented a hybrid network structure using both Diversity-coding and Self-healing. Performance evaluation by simulation includes spare path capacity ratio, and failure restoration delay in the proposed network.
