Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Hokkaido Electric Power Company has been using 1.55 μm non-dispersion optical fibers with low transmission loss since 1992, in order to extend the optical fiber transmission distance of OPGW. Through successive field measurements, we could confirm the stable optical transmission character of 1.55 μm non-dispersion optical fiber in Tokachi OPGW which has run for 5 years through serious environmental conditions, and we examined the possibility of preventive maintenance of OPGW by mechanical tests of OPGW line pieces. |
