Optimization of dispersion compensation lines for optical soliton transmission

Abstract(in English) We numerically investigated optical soliton transmission lines with periodic dispersion compensation elements. For the optimization of such lines, we must optimize many parameters simultaneously. Q-factor contour mapping is a powerful method for this purpose, and we developed some kinds of Q-maps for the optimization of dispersion managed lines. We confirmed that normal dispersion fiber based soliton lines have good performances for the ultra-long distance communication systems. And the optimal dispersion compensation does not depend on the compensation periods.
