Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have investigated the influence of inter-bit four-wave mixing in optical time division multiplexed transmission. The effect is caused by pulse broadening due to optical fiber dispersion and four-wave mixing between overlapped pulses. We have confirmed this effect experimentally, and also shown that there is an optimum pulse width to reduce both inter-bit four-wave mixing and self-phase-modulation effects.
