Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents an effective method, genetic algorithm (GA), to design unequally spaced channels WDM systems. GA is effective optimazation technique modeled on the mechanics of natural genetic systems. It expresses its ability by efficiently eploiting the historical infomation to speculate on new offspring with expected improved performance. By using this technique, we could design many channels WDM systems to eliminate Four Wave Mixing interferences with reasonable computation time. The performance of the method is also reported in the form of bandwidth efficiency.
