Ev:Doped Fiber Amplifier for WDM Transmission Using Fiber Gain Control

Abstract(in English) A new gain equalization method is proposed for an Er:doped fiber amplifier incorporating fiber gain control.In this method,an optical attenuator is adopted to controll repeater output signal level.Four channel WDM transmissions around 1.55mm with 3 nm spacings were investigated using these EDFAs and a circulating loop setup.A total 450 dB net gain with less than 1.5 dB gain difference was verified.This assures that transmission penalty due to ASE accumulation is only 2 dB after 2000 km four channel WDM transmission.
