Abstract(in English) | The midway optical phase conjugator(OPC)implemented in an ultra- long distance lightwave system can compensate for the nonlinear waveform distortion. In this paper,we point out that the periodic power vaxiation caused by the chain of optical amplifiers generates the sideband instability that cannot be compensated by the OPC.We find that the effective distortion compensation can be achieved by transmitting the signal in the normal dispersion region of fibers and keeping the amplifier spacing shorter than the nonlineax length. |
