Polarization Mode Dispersion measurement of installed optical submarine cable

Abstract(in English) We report Polarization Mode Dispersion(PMD)fluctuation factors in an installed optical submarine cable.The evaluation of the statistical PMD in an installed optical submarine cable for one year presents that the variation range is less than 10%,and the probability density function is Gaussian distribution.The measured PMD variation was stable by the results of the ocean experiment from an long-term point of view.It is also confmned that the major variation factor of PMD depends on sea temperature around shallow portion from the experimental results of ocean simulator.
