Abstract(in English) Concerning the improvement of dispersion compensating fibers(DCF) which eliminates the chromatic dispersion at 1.55μm in the standa rd single mode fibers(1.3SMF),refractive index profiles were optimized by theoretical and experimental investigations involving the bending loss characteristics.As the results,the maximum figure of merit was obtained by the profile with the fluorine-doped matched cladding and the △^+(refractive index difference between t he core and SiO_2 level)of about 2%.Furthermore,the fusion splicing between the DCF and-1.3SMF and compact packaging of the DCF to the small coil were also demonstrated.
