Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A combination of pre-chirping and dispersion compensation techniques is effective to realize 10Gb, s long-distance optical repeaterless transmission systems operating at a wavelength of 1. 55-μm with 1.3-μm zero-dispersion single-mode fibers(SMF).In this work,we investigated the optimum pre-chirping and dispersion compensation using a LiNbO_3 optical modulator and a dispersion compensating fiber(DCF).We achieved a 10-Gb/s repeaterless 135-km SMF transmission with a DCF.
