Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It has been reported that in AM, QAM hybrid subcarrier multiplexed(SCM)optical transmission systems,LD clipping causes serious degradation on QAM transmission chwacteristics. In this paper, the mechanism of the clipping induced degradation was investigated through experiments. As a result,it was confirmed that irnpidsive distortion due to the clipping degrades bit error rate of QAM signals.Furthermore, novel frequency allocations were proposed, which can suppress the clipping induced degradation.
