| 抄録(和) | 全光学的信号処理を目的として非線形のKerr型媒質を用いた非線形方向性結合器についての研究が盛んである.本報告では平行に配置されたKerr型の非線形円形誘電体導波路からなる方向性結合器について特異摂動法を用いた結合モード理論によってベクトル波動方程式に基づいた解析を行っている.近接して置かれた2本の導波路のモード間で結合が生じる際,直交した偏波を持つ2つのモードはコアとクラッドの比誘電率差に応じて異なった結合係数を持ち,非線形効果には偏波の影響が出てこないことを解析的に示している. |
| 抄録(英) | Nonlinear directional couplers using nonlinear Kerr-like optical waveguides have been studied extensively, because of its application to all optical processing devices. In this paper the coupled-mode analysis of nonlinear directional coupler consisting of two parallel circular dielectric waveguides is presented using a singular perturbation technique based on the vectral wave formulation. It is shown that the two orthogonally polarized modes of the isolated waveguides have the different coupling coefficients and the polarization effect is in proportion to the relative deference of permittivities of the core and cladding regions, while the nonlinear self-phase modulation coefficients do not depend on the polarization. |
