Power dividing characteristics of asymmetric Y-branch waveguide loaded with nonlinear dielectric material

Abstract(in English) The asymmetric Y-branch optical waveguide loaded with the nonlinear claddings proposed and analyzed by FD-BPM(Finite Difference Beam Propagation Method). When the power of the incident wave is small, the optical wave propagates mainly to the straight branch. On the contrary, the optical wave with large power propagates along the oblique branch, due to the self-focusing effect of Keer-like nonlinear material. The proposed Y-branch waveguide is available for the power-dependent optical switch.
