Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We analyze self-focusing effect of optical pulse beam in non-linear Kerr medium. The analysis of this phenomena needs to solve the non-linear Maxwell's equation. In order to solve it, we employ Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FD-TD) method with Perfectly Matched Layer (PML)as the absorbing boundary condition. When ultra short optical pulse beam is excited in Kerr medium, time delay of refractive index change occurs by non-linearity effect. Numerical results indicate that the time delay is related to self-focusing effect of non-linear Kerr medium.
