Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have demonstrated the feasibility of 20Gbit/s soliton-based transoceanic system with periodic dispersion compensation through the 1000km-loop transmission experiments and the 8100km straight-line transmission experiments. The Q2 of as large as 19dB, the sufficient power window of 2.5dB, and robustness to the repeater output power reduction were confirmed for 20Gbit/s, 9000km transmission system, in addition to the compatibility of the conventional supervisory scheme. The practicality of the single-channel 20Gbit/s transoceanic transmission system was proven by these experiments.
