High Power Erbium Doped Optical Fiber Amplifier

Abstract(in English) Various investigations are performed for the improvement of EDFA. We report the development of High Power EDFA pumped with high power semiconductor laser diodes bidirectionally. Moreover, we examined EDFA's structure for low-NF and reduced it by simultaneously pumping with 980nm and 1480nm pumping source. We also examined the characteristics of EDF and the fiber of optical parts which is optical transmission path and reports, as the application of High Power EDFA, dispersion shifted EDFA (DS-EDFA) whose wavelengh dispersion is considered and polalization maintaining EDFA (PM-EDFA) which amplify signal light with preserving its state of polarization.
