Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been studying an atmospheric optical communication(AOC) and developing an optical Field Pick-up(FPU) for broadcasting application. We noticed that the mechanism of generating errors in AOC was similar to that in magnetic recordings. By applying digital processing technique used in the digital D-3 format VTR, we succeeded to recover completely transmission errors (10^<-2> to 10^<-3> in bit rate) after error collecting and concealing. We confirmed that this technique was very useful for A/C and the optical FPU using this technique was able to take place of a microwave FPU.
