Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses the feasibility of optical transportation being used a new optical discrimination technique in the optical path cross-connect system. This optical discrimination is achieved by a newly-developed Side-Injection-Light-Controlled bistable laser diode (SILC-BLD) employing optical nonlinearity of a satuable-absorber. Transportation through optical discrimination is successfully demonstrated over 350km at 622Mbit/s.
