| Abstract(in English) | To develop optical access network systems, cost-effectiveness is essential. Both improved system and component technologies are required for system cost reduction. Especially, cost reduction of optical devices and modules in Optical Network Unit (ONU) is necessary. In this paper, we describe the requirement to optical devices in optical access network and modules. Moreover, we also describe recent progress in semiconductor optical devices and optical modules. |
