Path Accommodation Design and Failure Restoration for Optical Path Networks

Abstract(in English) The optical path (OP) accommodation design requires the optimization of both path routes and path wavelengths simultaneously. The wavelength assignment problem is NP complete and significantly complicates path accommodation design. An OP accommodation design algorithm enables us performance evaluation of several OP schemes and to carry out effective network planning. This paper quantitatively evaluates performances of WP/VWP scheme in terms of resources required for accommodating OPs within a network through path accommodation design simulations. Furthermore,this paper considers failure restration using OPs, which realizes reliability enhancement.
