| Abstract(in English) | The regional communication network system providing computer communication services for home and small business customers in residential area is proposed. System concept, system configuration and group communication mechanism are described. Group management and user authentication using MAC address are also discussed. Customers can belong to more than one group simultaneously and utilize any protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX and Apple Talk within one group. Home-use trial held on October 1995 in Yokosuka city is introduced. This trial is mainly offered to housewives and children. |
