Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method of reducing clipping-induced distortion in a SCM optical cable TV system using carrier phase locking. This scheme reduces amplitude peaks of the SCM signal by controlling the phases of video carriers in order to prevent the clipping which occurs during these peaks. It is experimentally shown that BER is decreased in a VSB-AM/QAM signals hybrid optical transmission system even if audio carriers are added and the phases of video RF signals are perturbed by modulation.
