Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical path networks using wavelength division multiplexing technique enhance the capability of transport networks. Optical path networks require an optical path over head transmission method for their maintenance and administration. The optical path over head transports the management information used for supervising the optical path. Pilot tone modulated by the management information is superimposed upon the optical signal. This pilot signal is suitable for optical path over head transmission method. The pilot signal can realize 32 kbps transmission capacity.
