Abstract(in English) A compact and high-performance wavelength control device will be indispensable in future optical subscriber-loop distribution systems and broadband multiwavelength fiber networks that use WDM technology. We propose novel wavelength control devices composed of the high-performance single-mode fiber switches that we developed and commercially available interference filters. This paper describes the basic concept, design, and characteristics of two types of wavelength controller using edge filters (SWPF and LWPF) and tunable band pass filters in 1.55μm wavelength region.
