Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) 980nm semiconductor laser diodes (LDs) have been developed for Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier(EDFA). Large reflection tolerance or interaction tolerance is required for 980nm LD because their characteristics prevents from flexible use to EDFA. We integrated an isolator for 980nm band into the LD module, and applied the 980nm LD module to a bi-directional pumped EDFA for the sake of improvement of LD module. It is confirmed that 980nm LD emits stably under the bi-directional configuration. We designed EDFA with the isolator integrated 980nm LD module for multi-channel WDM application, and examined the amplification characteristics.
