Multiwavlength Fiber Ring Laser Light Source with Arrayed-Waveguide Gratings

Abstract(in English) We propose a multiwavelength laser light source employing a couple of arrayed-waveguide gratings (AWGs), and study various applications in the wavelength division multiplexed networks (WDM). Furthermore, we clarify its four wavelengths operation, -5 dBm each output, 40 dB side mode suppression ratio and 60 dB signal to ASE back ground power ratio at 1.4 nm channel spacing. This multiwavelength ring laser light source has a capability of emitting modulation signals of each wavelength, and is also applicable to a discrete wavelength tunable light source.
